1. Visit Downtown Franklin Tn

Downtown Franklin is a district spread out over 16 blocks and filled with antique shops, art galleries, award-winning restaurants, historic homes, and much more. A few of the top historical attractions found in Downtown Franklin include the Carnton Plantation, the Carter House, and the Lotz House Museum.

If you’re looking for a great place to grab a bit to eat, a few of the top restaurants in the downtown district include the original Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant, the Red Pony Restaurant, and 55 South.

In addition to all the great dining, shopping, and exploring you can do, many popular festivals take place throughout the year as well. The Mainstreet Brewfest, Pumpkinfest, Main Street Festival, and Tour of Homes are just a few of the events that both residents and visitors thoroughly enjoy.

2. Franklin Farmers Market !

There’s nothing better than perusing a local farmers market, and the one held in Franklin every Saturday from 8 AM to 1 PM is one of the best.

The market was first started in 2002 by eight local farmers who wanted to preserve and celebrate Tennessee’s farmlands. The market now sells fresh produce and local goods from about 80 different farmers located in or near Franklin.

You can easily spend an afternoon shopping for fresh fruits and veggies, baked goods, handmade jewelry, pottery and more. There are also special events hosted at the market throughout the year as well.

3. Listen to The Live Music in Leiper’s Fork

One thing that you must do when in Tennessee, regardless of the city, is listen to live country music!

The charming little village of Leiper’s Fork is one of the best places to watch live music. It’s even featured on the National Register of Historic Places. Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant (which was just mentioned in the section above) is a great spot to enjoy some tasty BBQ and good music. There are lots of talented musicians hoping to impress the record label scouts who frequent this joint.

You may even get lucky and see a celebrity nearby! Justin Timberlake’s creative studio is around the corner, and stars like Reba McEntire live in the mega-mansions nearby. Many celebrities have been seen the area, so keep your eyes peeled!

Other fun options in Leiper’s Fork include catching a show at the Leiper’s Fork Lawnchair Theater or touring the multiple art galleries in the area.

4. SOAR Adventure Tower

If you want to get some exercise and have fun at the same time, it’s a great place to check out. The SOAR Tower is a huge structure with four different levels and over 100 climbing elements. Middle Tennessee Hot Air Adventures is located just outside of Nashville and will allow you to see Franklin, Nashville, and the hills of Middle Tennessee as you float peacefully up above. You can choose between a sunrise morning trip, or a sunset evening ride. Either option offers gorgeous and dramatic views, stretching out across the state.

Most trips take place during the months of April through November, although certain winter trips can also be booked. Just keep in mind that availability is limited, so book your trip in advance!

6. Franklin Bridge Golf Course

Known as one of Nashville’s most difficult golf courses, the Franklin Bridge Golf Course is a must-visit for professional and amateur golfers alike. It has beautiful scenery, with the tranquil Harpeth River encircling part of the 18-hole course, which makes it a great location for weddings, parties, and other big events. The expansive course was designed by Cary Roger Baird, and even hosts private and group lessons with PGA professional Scott Pierce.

7. View The Sunrise From Natchez Trace Parkway

One of the most beautiful spots to view the sunrise in Franklin is Natchez Trace Parkway. The 444-mile roadway winds through multiple states and is considered one of the most frequented national parks in the U.S. There’s great biking to be had in the area, and many beautiful viewpoints and campgrounds.
